June 8 & 9 2009 Seminar on Mass Violence and the Media 

CFOM hosted a two day research seminar ‘The End is where we start from: Media Coverage of Genocide and Mass Violence’ at the University of Sheffield.

The seminar established research collaboration between The Centre for Journalism Ethics, University of Madison-Wisconsin, the Institute of Communications Research, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, The Sheffield Centre for the Study of Genocide and Mass Violence, University of Sheffield and the Centre for Freedom of the Media (Department of Journalism Studies, University of Sheffield).

The seminar was funded by the Environment Division, University of Sheffield and was attended by scholars from social sciences, arts and humanities and science faculties.
