Prof. James Crossley

James Crossley is Professor of Bible, Culture and Politics in the Department of Biblical Studies, University of Sheffield.

His recent research and publishing interests have involved looking at the ways in which dominant narratives concerning religion, the Middle East, the war on terror, and neoliberalism impact on the media, popular and political culture, public intellectuals, and scholarly writings.

He has also published on the role of independent intellectual blogging (especially on religion) and how such blogging often replicates the mainstream media and dominant political agendas.

He is currently working with Jackie Harrison on the construction of religion in the British media.

His major publications include, Jesus in an Age of Terror: Scholarly Projects for a New American Century (Equinox, 2008).
